Canadian Gold Hunter Intersects Additional Near Surface High-Grade Copper/Gold on the Donnelly Zone at the GJ/Kinaskan Project

Nov 14, 2006 - 01:53 ET

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 14, 2006) - Canadian Gold Hunter Corp. (the "Company") (TSX:CGH) is pleased to announce the final results of a very successful 2006 drilling campaign on the GJ/Kinaskan copper-gold project in northern British Columbia in which 18,230 metres were drilled in 62 drill holes. Highlights of the summer program include the discovery of the Donnelly North Zone and the continued delineation of shallow high-grade copper/gold mineralization in the Donnelly Zone itself. Please see attached map and sections.

High-grade, near-surface results from the Donnelly Zone, reported herein, include holes CGH-06-125, which grades 0.50% copper and 0.61g/t gold over 82.3 metres; 06-127, which grades 0.79% copper and 0.97g/t gold over 30.6 metres and 06-128, which grades 1.49% copper and 1.80g/t gold over 39.3 metres.

The high-grade, near-surface core to the Donnelly Zone is 30 to 100 metres wide and extends for the entire 1500-metre strike length of the Donnelly Zone. This high-grade core grades in excess of 0.5% copper and 0.5 g/t gold and would be easily accessible in the early days of an open-pit mining operation. It is generally part of a thicker, lower-grade zone that is up to 300 metres wide and averages about 0.3% copper and 0.3 g/t gold.

Upcoming plans include a new resource calculation on the Donnelly and Donnelly North Zones. The last resource estimate, carried out in March 2006, outlined an indicated resource, at a cut off of 0.20% copper, of 91.73 million tonnes grading 0.373% copper and 0.381 g/t gold and an additional inferred resource, at the same cut off, of 28.04 million tonnes grading 0.354% copper and 0.369 g/t gold. The newly discovered Donnelly North Zone and deep drilling on the Donnelly Zone itself will add significantly to the resource base.

Additional work over the winter months will include a Preliminary Assessment of the project by Giroux Consultants Ltd. and Nilsson Mining Services and continuing environmental baseline studies by Rescan Tahltan Environmental Consultants.

Rick Bailes, president of Canadian Gold Hunter commented, "The Donnelly Zone has a number of attractive features, including easy access from the Stewart Cassiar highway and gentle topography, which when combined with the near-surface high-grade core enhances the economic viability of the project. In addition, hostile takeover bids for bcMetals and Nova Gold, which respectively own the nearby Red Chris and Galore Creek copper-gold porphyry deposits, has certainly focused attention on the area."

CGH is engaged in gold exploration focused on Canadian projects. The Company has a 100% interest in the GJ/Kinaskan project.

The Company also completed drilling its Manson Creek gold project in central B.C. on October 21st. Assay results from Manson Creek are expected by early December.

The 2006 drill program and sampling protocol are being supervised by qualified person David Mehner, P.Geo., Project Geologist for Canadian Gold Hunter. Appropriate quality control and quality assurance protocols are utilized on the program. Standard reference samples are inserted in each batch of assays. The Canadian Gold Hunter drill samples are analyzed for gold by fire assay and for copper and silver by "ICP" at ALS Chemex in North Vancouver, B. C., Canada. Drill core samples are prepared and analyzed by ALS Chemex in accordance with industry standards. Drill results and technical data are reviewed by Dr. Giles Peatfield, P.Eng., a Qualified Person pursuant to NI 43-101, prior to release. Dr. Peatfield is independent of the Company. True thicknesses are not accurately known at this time; in some cases they may be less than the core lengths reported.

This News Release contains forward looking statements which are subject to a variety of risks and uncertainties which could cause actual events or results to differ materially from those reflected in the forward looking statements. The Company does not intend to update this information and disclaims any legal liability to the contrary.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD
