VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 15, 2006) - Canadian Gold Hunter Corp. (the "Company") (TSX:CGH) is pleased to report that all resolutions presented at the Company's Annual General Meeting held in Vancouver on August 9, 2006 were passed unanimously, namely:

Staley, Okada & Partners, Chartered Accountants, were reappointed as auditors of the Company for the ensuing year.

The following were elected to the Board of Directors:

Lukas H. Lundin, Chairman

Richard J. Bailes, President

John H. Craig

Michael D. McInnis

Ronald K. Netolitzky

William A. Rand

Mr. Michael H. Halvorson declined to stand for re-election in order to pursue other endeavours. The Board wishes him well and thanks him for his excellent contribution to the Company.

At the Company's GJ/Kinaskan project in northern B.C., a 15,000 metre summer drill program is well underway. Approximately 11,000 metres of drilling in 28 holes have been completed to date. The bulk of the drilling is focusing on expanding resources in the Donnelly Zone, which has been defined over an E-W length of 1,500 meters and remains open at both extremities and at depth. Deep drilling has started at the west end of the zone, where DDH 05-076, the last hole of the 2005 campaign, intersected 47 meters grading 0.83% Cu and 1.32 g/t Au in an intensely altered quartz-vein stockwork. A limited amount of in-fill drilling will be undertaken on the zone to convert all remaining inferred resources to the indicated status. In addition, several reconnaissance holes are being drilled on I.P. targets north of the Donnelly Zone.

J. E. Christoffersen, P. Eng., a Qualified Person pursuant to NI 43-101, has reviewed the contents and technical information contained in this news release. Drill samples are analyzed for gold by fire assay and for copper by atomic absorption, by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver, B. C., Canada.
